Special Collections at the University of Botswana Library comprise the Archives and the Botswana Collection. The University Archives acquires and preserves records with enduring value, which relate to the University, its faculty, staff, students and alumni, or to Botswana. The unit also holds private research collections. The Botswana Collection (or BDSC) is a resource to hold books, theses, newspapers, pamphlets and multi-media material which may be published or unpublished. The material is collected from within and outside Botswana, and includes the national legal deposit collection. The primary consideration is that the material should be focused on Botswana, the SADC region, or the University of Botswana, or that it should be by Batswana.
